All My Knives - Sounds Both Soft and Sharp

All My Knives is the one-man-band name under which I produce music. A combination of synthesized electronics, analog bass guitar and vocals blend to make an experimental amalgam of rock, pop and dance music. It's equal parts gentle and dark, distorted and melodic.

ALL MY KNIVES is also the title of the 9 track record I released independently last year. It's designed to be heard in order, as an album, but if I were to suggest one track as an introduction, I would offer CLOSE + ACCEPT. It is the most holistically representative of the sound of All My Knives as it evolves from bouncing, melancholic pop melodies to slowed, plucked guitars before boiling over into a distorted, electronic outro dotted with metallic percussion.
The songs with lyrics hint at themes of mortality, revenge, self-doubt, nurturing, and acceptance. All My Knives was a phrase I wrote originally as a song title, but eventually it felt larger than that; evocative and memorable. It's vaguely threatening, speaking perhaps to defense mechanisms, the knife as a weapon. Maybe it’s more neutral, a collection of tools. If you’re intrigued, I do hope you’ll listen.
It's streaming for free on Spotify, Tidal and Apple Music, but if you simply have to own it, it's purchasable on BandCamp for the incredibly reasonable price of $7. Thanks!
